Wordens Past
is a communication vehicle for persons searching their WORDEN linage (with varied spellings).
Published on a quarterly basis, it is a collection of information that may help lead to documentation of family
lineages, largely
consisting of secondary information, much of which has been verified by the contributor.
Membership to Wordens Past gives access to the members' only section of the website. This includes all past issues of the publication, census records, as well as free queries. As a subscriber to
Wordens Past,
you will receive either an email issue of our publication, or one mailed to you, whichever you prefer. We have all of our past issues online for our
Wordens Past members. Please take a few moments to look at our index of these issues.
Are you a Worden researcher, or are you interested in Worden genealogy? Do you want to communicate with other Worden researchers? Are you stuck at a brick wall and are searching for help to break through your brick wall? Are you searching for records that you hope exist, but you've been unable to find them?
If the answer to any of these questions is YES, then join the Worden Family Association.
Membership in the Worden Family Association gives you:
Online access to all Wordens Past, starting with our first newsletter, dated May 1980.
Online access to Some Records of Persons by the Name of Worden compiled by O. N. Worden, published in 1868.
Online access to the Surname index for the Oliver Norton Worden book.
You may purchase, at a discount, the CD containing the book The Worden Surname From Peter Worden of Yarmouth to 1850 by Gilbert S. Bahn.
Access to Marjorie Schunke research. Please keep checking back, as we are adding her information on a daily basis. Her treasure trove of research currently resides at the North Kingstown Library where it is being preserved and indexed. If you cannot get to that library, join our membership and access her records on this website.
Online access to A Weir in the Valley by Waite W. Worden. This book was privately published in 1992.
Web Links. This is a partial list of useful genealogical and local history research sites accessible on the Internet. Most can be used for free but some require subscriptions (fees) to access the actual records that are found.
We continue to add genealogical records to our archives section. As these records go online, members have instant access to view, download and print these records.
Contributions: All Worden data, and its varied spellings, is welcome. Please include published sources, documentations with title, author, publisher, copyright and date, and date published, if known. A copy of the title page of books and manuscript is helpful. Most material is placed in the computer database before publishing in Wordens Past.
If in electronic form, email to: pwarden12@charter.net.
