An extensive manuscript was created in
1972 by Mrs. Marjorie Webster Schunke.
The title of her work was The Worden Family in Rhode Island.
Working with a segment of
Oliver Norton
Worden's book, Mrs. Schunke managed to fill in gaps and trace
her own line back to Peter Worden I.
As important as this was, even more important overall, was Mrs.
Schunke's service as an informal clearinghouse for Worden
information in general.
She accumulated copies of manuscripts compiled by, among others, Dorothy and Stanley Worden, Elmer Worden, and Robert Worden Stump.
Mrs. Schunke freely shared everything she had, including her manuscript, loaning out great notebook binders for studying and photocopying.
Her treasure trove of papers was directed to the Peacedale Library at her death, but now resides at the North Kingstown Library, where it is being preserved and indexed.
Presented here is the manuscript she so freely shared.
